for jobs in Boston and the only one that seemed appealing to me was a late night reporter and you need experience for it that I don't have. Crossing guard seemed okay too. DH asked me what my "career ambitions" were. Um, I don't have any? Mommy blogger?
Trader Joes needs managers. What the hell am I going to do? He thinks I need a backup plan in case we don't have kids but I just sort of want to punch him in the face.
I have already given you my best job ideas. Where are you looking for jobs?
That's true, I know I've already asked this. This is mostly a vent. I am not even looking yet because January is still 7 months out. I'm just scoping out the field. I applied for two jobs at a university and they didn't even call me.
I have sorta lost touch with people's lives since the switch to GBCN so sorry if you have already covered this.
I don't want to work at a law firm. Well maybe I do, I don't know. I have no illusions that my lack of experience plus regional law degree would even get me a legal job in Boston.
I would love to work at the state legislature (where I work now) but the few connections I've made have turned up nothing.
The company I work for is always hiring. They pretty much only hire entry level though, around $35-$40K (+ great health insurance coverage). I can PM you the name if interested. It's a software company that does everything in house.

Yes please do. I'd love to make $40 but I'm not so picky.*

When did you apply? You know my experience is in higher ed and seriously they are SO slow at HR stuff. Once they called me 3 months after I applied and it took another 3 months for them to give me an offer. And that is at the "H" school.

I sent you a message. It could be even higher than that now.

It was about a month ago at the H school. Two research jobs in areas I had a lot of research experience in. I was super mad they never called me because I only put in $40k as my desired salary. I keep telling H that no one wants me, even on sale.
The ad said the process would only take 6-7 weeks, but this sort of gives me hope to hear about, thanks!
You said you looked into a reporting job ... check out ALM.com.
ETA: If you are interested in writing/reporting jobs, also check out mediabistro.com and journalismjobs.com.
Craigslist has a lot of spam and crap jobs, but some are truly legit. I just had an interview last week with a place I found on Craigslist (legit company, CL was just one of the places where they were advertising).
I'm just really spoiled right now with my semi-decent job that allows me to Nest and read YA dystopian novels whenever I feel like it. How will I replicate this joy? And H is all like "what excites you?" I said "mac and cheese."
