i tried googling it, but didn't come up with what i'm looking for.
my MIL cooks with it...i've never seen it as a "raw" product, only the end result. it's like a cross between a potato and a radish. it tastes pretty potato-y.
my MIL speaks many languages, and often doesn't know what/where her words are coming from...she do esn't know any other name for it, other than "gustava"...my guess is that it has indonesian roots..but i don't know.
jennuinne, the picture doesn't work for me (i tried on computer, and on phone).....but i've never seen it before it's been cooked, only the aftermath of it. the thing i'm eating right now, was probably blended and made into a doughy substance.
she normally chops it up, batters it, and fries it.

okay, sounds completely different than. i was wondering if in indonesian, cassava is pronounced gustava, or if it's my MIL's accent when speaking english.....only recently h and his sister learned that it's an avocado and not abocado.
