I'm starting to plan DS' bday party. I'm going to visit a farm this week and as long as I like it there, we're going to have it there. I want to have some cute favors that at least some somewhat go with the theme but have no idea where to start. Kids will be 3-6. We went to a party a few weeks ago that had a Mickey/Minnie cup, a few stickers, a few of those little rubber bracelets and a $3 dairy queen gift card. I like that because it was useful and not just crap that is gonna go in the trash when you get home. What have your kids received as party favors that they/you've liked and actually gotten used?
I absolutely hate when DD gets a bag of $1 store crap at b-day parties. For her 2nd b-day we did an owl theme and gave the kids crayon roll-ups with owls on them. For her 3rd b-day, she had Dora party and we gave the kids more crayons, coloring books, and playing cards (go fish, rummy, etc) all Dora themed.

Ummm...none of them have been particularly awesome. Pinatas are big around here so I stuffed a piñata (the kind with the strings you pull, not one you hit) with candy and trinkets. I provided gift bags for everyone to collect their loot and called it a favor.

I usually get one larger thing for the kids for a favor rather than smaller things. We have done books and washable markers. When DD was very small, we gave the mylar balloons to kids to take home.

I have never seen those until now when I was trolling the internet looking for ideas. I hope there's somewhere to hang one there. I think it's really cute and much easier than letting a 3 year old wield a bat.

I was going to suggest a coloring book and crayons too. I imagine it would be easy enough to find a farm-themed one. Or erasers; my nephews always seemed to like getting those. And of course stickers, like you mentioned.

The best favor DD1 ever got was a bucket with her name on it filled with a cute cup and straw, sunglasses, bubbles, and some sand toys. She still uses the bucket to this day!
-crayons -beach bucket/shovel from Target $1 bins -animal crackers in those old-school boxes with the string handle -fun flavored apple sauce in a clear gift bag w/a fun colored spoon -packet of flower seeds -mini playdough (you can buy multi-packs in most party favor aisles of Walmarts/Targets, etc.) -coloring book -mini lego set (those stocking stuffer sized ones for like $3) -sidewalk chalk from dollar store -2 squares of graham crackers, 1 large marshmallow, and a bite sized Hershey's chocolate in a plastic gift bag
I would do one nice thing or cookies. DS is having a firetruck b-day party and we are buying small wooden firetrucks for all the kids. $3 each, but we'd spend that much on crap anyway.
Perhaps you could find small wooden animals or do a seed packet with a pot.

We just had our 2 year old's party. The kids 2 and under got superhero rubber ducks. The ones closer to kid 1's age, 4, got superhero capes. they loved them. Mine are wearing theirs today and I understand the other kids wear theirs daily, too.
I like the one nicer thing approach. We recently went to a robot party that had cute rubber kick ball style balls with robots on them as the favor. My kids have been playing with them outside all the time. They make a barnyard themed one:
Giving each kid a child sized farm tool like this would be cute, too:
You could also get those animal tubes full of farm animals for each kid. My kids love those.
