He was asleep and I was rubbing his arm and he said it. I was like, what did you say? And he didn't really wake up. lol. At least now we've both done it.
There's a small part of me that's wondering if he was really asleep, or if he just pretended to be after he heard the "wtf did you just say" in my voice, lol.

I was totally gonna say this! I bet he wasn't so asleep...
booby- last week, I was leaving his house before work, half asleep, we had just been all cuddly. I swear he said "I love you" and reflexively, I said "I love you too" and then got in the car and realized that was NOT what he said, (he said "see you babe" but kind of mumbled it) and proceeded to have a minor freak out. He hasn't mentioned it.
It wasn't a bad wtf, more of a surprised wtf, but he might not have been able to figure it out.
and yeah, i vote that he wasn't asleep but pretended to be. it's actually a good strategy. if you had of said, 'i love you too', then it would have ben awesome for him. but in hearing, 'wtf', he was able to 'pretend' he was sleeping and therefore, erase his vulnerability.
i'm totally trying this move on my next boyfriend.
Agreed. And setting it up with a mention that I talk in my sleep sometimes.
