Disturbed by something at work today

My coworker told me today that she and another coworker got UTIs because the doctor they were working with didn't want to give them a bathroom break! (Insert shocked smiley here)

How messed up is this? This doc already pushes my buttons, but damn!

If they got UTIs, they should get a doctors note then their boss will HAVE to let them have bathroom breaks.

As a receptionist, I have to get someone to cover for me if I need to go, which is annoying, but I can't imagine not being able to go AT ALL.

How long were they w/o breaks?

I've looked it up before, they are protected by law to take bathroom breaks. Some places require you have a backup, but it's required...

I am beyond disturbed that they won't say anything. I feel like I am always the one to bring stuff up but I am going to bring it up if they let me. Ugh, I can't wait to get out of there!

Well if they aren't bringing something up is the doctor paying their doctor bills or for their meds? As someone who is prone to utis this really disturbs me.

Try have not said anything. I am going to talk to them on Monday and tell them that they need to say something or I will. It is just BS

They NEED to say something!!! Also, legally every 4 hours of work, they are required to be allowed a 15 minute break so at minimum, they should have THAT for a bathroom break! If they aren't even getting that minimum, then that's illegal and they need to assert their rights. At the point where its affecting their health, they're being RIDICULOUS to not fight for themselves!

Um, isn't that illegal? They should file L&I for the UTIs. I totally would if that's what really happened.
