Hay Bale wedding is today. I decided that we're not going and am faking sick. My sister told me our dad is contemplating the many ways he can kill H, so it seems best not to go.
There is an 80% chance of severe thunderstorms this afternoon, with hail and high winds likely. There is also a tornado watch out. They are still going through with an outdoor wedding.
My mom is there now cooking the meal, which she was just asked to HELP with on Thursday. No one else is there and nothing is ready. She's cooking 75lbs on sausage and making potato casserole from scratch (peeling potatoes and all) for 300 people. She is pissed and called me cussing a blue streak, which I can't blame her for. MOB is also having a melt down because the bride is arriving in a horse drawn wagon, and people keep telling FOB how wonderful his horse team is, and MOB thinks they should be calling it their team, not just his team.
My mom promised to keep me update, with pics of any and all train wrecks.
If this were me I would go by myself, help my mom, then stick around as long as I could without putting myself in danger of being killed by a collapsing barn or a horse team that's been spooked by thunder.

I would do the same, mostly because I'm nosy and would want to see the train wreck first hand.
The wedding is 2 hrs away from me, so it wasn't very feasible for me to run over and help, or I would have. It would also have blown my cover story.
It's my cousin getting married, so my aunt asked my mom to help, she just didn't know she was doing it all, and by herself. RSVPs aren't a big deal here, a lot of people don't even ask for them. I don't think I've ever been to a pay by the plate wedding.
I can't stop laughing at the "her" "their" issue. My guess is if she can't be bothered to help make the meal for her daughter's wedding she probably isn't the one who cares for said horses.

I see. Perfectly understandable.
Your sisters story has been on my mind, and I was also hoping to see an update that your dad was ready to kill your sisters dh. I hope your sister has a support system that helps her get perspective.
