These are so fun to make- I have sketches to pretty much double this set. I can only do them in batches about this size because the time intensive parts (sanding and polishing) start to get really repetitive by the end of this "amount". This set was made with a piece of culled SPF I picked up at HD for $1! I still have 6' of it. So, not counting my very valuable (at least to me!) time and the tools (which really aren't bad), it's a super cheap project!
I'm really impressed with how well the SPF is holding up, too- it's such a soft wood, but, the first set has been through the fire with the kids (and dogs- they love to knock down towers with their tails- LOL).

Wow. Seriously just wow. Those are amazing and look so much like some that cost about 50Euros for a set at my favorite toystore here. Sigh. But I have not wood working skills or tools.
They really aren't very complicated to make- just a band saw, a drill press (a hand drill would work fine), sandpaper, paint, and polish. And a lot of time. LOL
did i tell you that my neighbor is a woodworker and gives me bags of wood blocks by the bag? he gives them to me to burn. can't burn most of them...especially black walnut and the like. this is the perfect type of project to do with them.
keep posting. each time you do, i get a little braver in thinking that i could run power tools by myself.
Thank you!! And yes, I love my band saw- it's such a fun toy!
I'm a really really bad Pinterest-er. I go through little (and I mean little) spurts where I actually use it- but, mostly I just bookmark things the old fashioned way!
