So, STBX and I lease a house. The lease is up in June. We (even through divorce) are obligated to that lease. I cannot afford to move out on my own and owe two rents, utilities, etc.
My dad had mentioned that my attorney (I say MY attorney, but really I have just called and left a message with her ) could file a temporary order that he vacate the premises for a certain period of time. Is this true? I guess every situation/state law is different.
I live near relatives and friends, but all either with small homes, or just not conducive to me and the two kids. Just exploring my options, I guess.

Is there any type of penalty to break your lease? Would your H be willing to break the lease and go your separate ways into your own places?
Like Mint's situation (only reversed) I lived in the marital home and paid 100% of the expenses. I didn't make XH pay for anything in a house that I was living in. Would your H agree to something like this if he got his own place?
Also a lot of times, if you find a renter to sign a new lease, the landlord will let you out of your lease. I did this when I bought a house and still had 5 months left on my lease. I placed the ads, handled the tours, had them fill out the apps and then sent those to the landlord.
