does anyone know how to make a witch's hat?

My youngest is going to be merriweather (a fairy from sleeping beauty) for halloween and I need a blue hat that is basically the same shape as a witch's hat. I think it would be pretty easy to make, but I'm not really crafty. Any ideas? Should I just buy a black one and cover it with blue fabric or paint it?

I would get craft or wool felt from the bolt at Joann's. You'll want to double it at a minimum. It can be glued or sewn.

Painting with fabric paint would be easier though. Just get a matte color. Some are puffy or shiny.

or I guess you can use glue and glue on blue felt/fabric.

They had colored witches hats in the dollar spot at Target last week. Not sure if they had blue, but it might be worth checking.

awesome, thank you!!! she could actually be any of the fairies, so other colors would work too. I just picked Merriweather because she's the fattest

You know, I was surprised they had colored witch hats, which is why I remembered it. Maybe it's a new trend! If your Target is out of them, it couldn't hurt to check a Halloween store.
