I have a date on Saturday afternoon and we're meeting at a winery.
Supposed to be 67 degrees and we might go to dinner afterwards if it goes well. What would you wear on a date like this? Normally I'd wear a dress wine tasting but a high of 67 seems a bit chilly for a dress, plus it'll be coolor at night. I'm leaning towards a dressier top, heels, and dark denim. Then I can pair it with a blazer when it gets cooler in the evening (if it goes that far).
Cute! Will you be walking around the grounds? If so, heels might not be the best bet.
I'm not sure but that's a good point. I have a couple of cute pairs of wedge heels that might work well. He's like 6'1" so I definitely want to wear heels otherwise he'll tower over me.

I like the outfit, but I'd find some cute flats or maybe do a skinny jean with that top and riding boots. I've done a lot of wine tasting and the ground at a lot of wineries is dirt (so heels sink) and uneven (so even in a wedge you will be wobbly). Plus, all the guys I have wine tasted with tend to make fun of the heels that the girls are wearing, pointing out that they are totally inappropriate for wine tasting at vineyards because they aren't practical for that type of day. I'd hate for your date to think that about you
Hmmm...I have a couple of cute pairs of skinny jeans...maybe I will rethink.
I still feel most confident in heels or a wedge, especially when said date is so much taller than me. I will have to think about this one.
I love it when guys tower over me. lol I'm only 5'3"ish -- maybe 5'4" if I really push it. Going out with a guy this weekend who is 6'4" and really looking forward to it. Most of the men in my family are over 6'4" tall, though, so I am used to it.
I think it's more about me feeling REALLY confident in heels. In flats I tend to feel a bit dumpy(ish) so for a first date I want to be at the top of my game, if that makes sense.
We're not exactly doing wine tasting, more like meeting for a glass of wine so I don't think I need to worry about tromping around in the dirt a lot.
If you're going to a winery to taste a couple of glasses then I think that outfit is perfect. It neither looks as though you're trying too hard nor is it understated/too casual.
Where are you all hiding these tall men?! LOL
Hope you have a blast and bonus, have some tasty wines!!
Yah, I think it'll be fine. I think the most important thing is to feel really confident when you're first meeting someone. I'm generally pretty confident but it can be nerve wracking on a first date!
This is a guy I met on match.com. Our schedules just now coordinated for us to get together because he lives near my aunt. It might be a one and done date just for the mere fact that we live away from one another but since I'm going up there anyways for my cousin's football game I thought it would be fun to meet up!

When I've gone wine tasting at vineyards, it's usually in a tasting room...so you'd be fine in heels! It's only if you want to go on a tour of the vineyard or picnic on the grounds or whatever that I'd recommend against them.
