My life is getting a little out of control busy. I have so much going on right now and most of it is great, but I have zero time to just relax and chill out. Between work, my son, exercise, taking care of the house, church, friends, family, shopping, the list goes on and on and on.
I tried to take a bubble bath last night and my son started knocking on the door! I've been trying to meditate for like 2 weeks and haven't had time. I need to find a way to fit in some time to be still and quiet or even just watch tv.
How do y'all do it? I have a couple of days away at a lake planned for Thanksgiving weekend but I can't wait until then. Help me please. thanks

I don’t recommend doing this very often, but what about taking a personal/sick/mental health day at work? Send DS to school and DON’T do anything around the house. Just relax and enjoy yourself doing whatever it is you like.
Does DS have a pretty consistent bed time? My quiet time comes at 9, after both kiddos are in bed and the house is quiet. I rarely deviate from the bed times because I need that down time in my life. I get a few hours that way, because I don't ever go to bed until 11 or 12.
Are you still getting up at the crack of dawn? Could you find time in the morning to meditate?

yes, I got up at 4am this morning and I spent an hour or so paying bills and doing my budget. Then I did a little reading (not for pleasure) and then before you know it, it's 5:30 and time to get in the shower

How far do you live from your office? I live 15 minutes from home, so I go home at lunch and either watch something in my Tivo or ride my elliptical for 30 minutes. It's not a lot, but it is enough of a little reviver in the middle of the day.

I've seriously considered this but I just was off 3 days for being sick so I am out of days. And they are strict about that around here!

About 20 min each way I haven't been going to the gym lately b/c I was sick so maybe once I start that back it will satisfy my need for alone time.

This is my "me" time as well on the nights FF is at work. DS is in bed by 8:15 at the latest and I only spend another 30 minutes doing chores (cleaing, dishes, laundry, etc) However, I'm in bed by 10:30 at the latest so it doesn't give me much time.
Hmmmm...my time is usually after P goes to sleep. I have been trying to get him down right at 8. I wake up early too (not at 4am though) and do my yoga and get ready before he gets up. I also usually walk on my lunch break so that's some time to myself.

Yea, this is me in the evening for sure. I get maybe 15 min to read or something after I do dishes, etc. I try to go to bed pretty early since I get up at the ass crack of down.
Maybe I'll try to get some relaxing time in at the office. I work pretty hard lately.

So funny how the world works sometimes, I just came across a conference for caregivers of people with disabilities or that require a high level of care (my son has SN). It's about getting rest from the stress of caregiving! It's free but on a work day. I've used all my vacation days but I'm going to ask my boss about taking an unpaid day off. This sounds like just what I need!
