Read any good books lately? I'm having surgery on Thursday that will have me off work for 2 weeks and unable to walk or drive for 8 weeks... I will have lots of free time and I'm sure I'll hate TV after only a few days. I'm pretty open to any genre and don't mind series. Thanks!

Cooked by Jeff Henderson--amazing biography about a guy who became a drug dealer at a young age, got busted, worked his way up through the prison kitchens, and has become one of the premier chefs in Vegas since getting out
My book club just finished "Saving CeeCee Honeycutt" by Beth Hoffman (I think that's the author's name) and we all liked it. Next month is "Half Broke Horses" by the person who wrote "The Glass Castle." I like Debbie Macomber, but most of her stuff is really sweet. My job has us do a group read for teacher prep week and this year I read " My Thirteenth Winter" and I thought it was a great read. I have JK Rowling's "Casual Vacancy" on my nightstand, too.

I second Kristin Hannah, Emily Giffin, and Jennifer Weiner all if you are looking for light reads. Let's Pretend This Never Happened was possibly one of the funniest things I have ever read. It literally made me laugh out loud. I just finished the Glass Castle and it was awesome. House Rules by Jodi Piccoult was also really good.
