Just before I left home this morning. H had a conference call with his boss. Boss said 11 employees will no longer be reporting to him. Now, H will only have around 13-15 under him. Eff! This can't be good, right?
Before I left, I told him I was so sorry and gave him a hug/kiss. I'm freaking out, but I did not say anything. I didn't want him to feel worse about the news. Now, I feel like crying. :-(
FYI, I've noticed that I worry a lot more when pregnant. It's harder for me to think positive. :-(
It might not be all bad. Over the past couple of years DH's job has been reorganized a billion times. He's had anywhere from 30 to just 3 people underneath him. It seems ever changing. He's still employed and is told he's a part of the long term plan so we haven't worried about the fluctuations.
Did your H get any explanation for the change in reporting structure? If I were him, I would ask for more feedback regarding his own performance and the opportunities/goals for improvement.
He did get a reason. I believe he got the 1 team that boss just took away 2yrs ago during a re-organization. Boss think the team should now be reporting to someone else. The team has 2-3 members locally and the rest are in Europe.

This. It could be purely related torestructuring and have nothing to do with your DH's perfomance. Try not to worry until you and DH know more.

Thinking about it, there has been fluctuations in H's job. Losing almost half of your group just sounds a lot. He has been told he's valued in the company, but I just think things can easily change anytime and there's never a guarantee.

Thanks. I really hope it's nothing. One of the executive VPs mentioned about looking into forming a new team and H is on her list. This was 2-3 wks ago. But I guess I just don't count on anything until it happens.

I'm sure it's nothing. Our company restructures ALL THE TIME. It's kind of annoying. When you're dealing with multiple locations - especially when some are off shore - it's easier to have team leads etc in the same place as the team.
