I signed up for the free Ancestry.com trial membership and forgot to cancel. I was looking over bank stuff this evening and noticed an $85 charge for a six month membership. I went to cancel thinking I wouldn't be able to get my money back, but sure enough I get my money back in full. Thankfully I looked. I don't think I'll sign up for another free trial of anything, I always forget to cancel before the scheduled payment.
That always happens to me when I sign up for free trials. Before I found out there are ways to find out your credit score for free, I always signed up for free trials on mycreditreport.com and aalways forgot to cancel. I dont remember if I always got my $$ back either.

Have you checked out geni.com? It was free last time I checked and really useful, because it links up trees with other users. Good thing you didn't have to shell out $85!

ancestry.com links up your tree with other users if you want, too.
