Do you guys put frozen chicken directly in the crockpot? My neighbour said you can but I'm scared...... but t would make cooking so much quicker sometimes.
I do. I usually leave the crockpot on longer than the usual 8 hours, since I am out of the house longer than that for work. I've never had any issues with anything I've made with frozen chicken.
Usually the chicken that goes into my crock pot is frozen still.
I cook things for a verrry long time, though. From say, 7:30am-7pm.
I dice chicken for a lot of my crock pot meals, and honestly, it's so much easier to cut up when it's mostly frozen. I tend to move it from freezer to fridge the night before, and it's the perfect texture for prep.
The meat I put in the crockpot is almost always frozen. I've been using frozen chicken/roasts for at least 5 years now, and I lived to tell the tale. Being able to use meat straight from the freezer is one of the things that is so appealing to me.
