DH received his orders (finally!) this morning. I've mentioned the upcoming move on this board, but up until now, we had nothing official referencing it. We still do not have confirmation that I can move with DH, but are expecting it within the next week or two.
So, that means I need to tell my boss. I telecommute, so I could phone him about it, but history has shown my boss doesn't process news like this well when he has to react immediately. That means putting together an email.
Holy stressful. I'd love to continue working for them, but I'll be the first to admit the time zone difference (14 hours) and the sheer distance could be difficult. So I'm trying to spin it, because we have some projects in Asia/Pacific that I am involved with which could benefit from my location change.
Yikes. And I thought my stress levels couldn't get higher for this move... I can't wait until it's a fait accompli, and we're settled in over there.
I was actually thinking of emailing my boss today about it, even though accompanied confirmation might still be up to a week away. I could be jinxing things, I suppose, but we're less than two months out from DH's report date, and with the holidays in the mix, I'm really cutting it tight on lead-time for work, either for prep for leaving the company, or prep for moving so far from the main office...
Still not sure if I'll get concurrent or deferred travel, though.

I would wait till you got the confirmation that you are going. I think telling them you would love to keep telecommuting is a good start. Are you willing to work strange hours from your new location. If you are, i think it would work. You have had this job for a couple other moves right?
Things are also complicated by the fact I need to renew my passport so that when I do have confirmation of accompanied orders I can get a visa processed asap. Renewing my passport means going out of town and working from my parent's place, and I really should do that next week... (it's a long story, but the short version is that Canada doesn't let you rush passport renewals unless you apply in person)
