If you take it have you had any side effects? I started it on Sunday and have been feeling nauseous and dizzy which is one of the side effects. The information packet said that that could last up to three months and I am not looking forward to feeling this way for so long.
I'm on week 3 and about to lose my mind!!! I took yaz for a few years 2006-09 and havent taken any hormonal BC since.. tried nuvaring for like a month or two.
Orsythia is non stop break through bleeding, extremely sore breast and ridiculous exhaustion. I've been keeping track of everything but want to get thru one month.
I'm curious what the 'good' BC are now. I did fine with yaz but all the lawsuits etc havent helped the cause for getting back on it.

Hi I'm the OP. I am still taking Orsythia. After I had my first "real period" on this pill everything got better. No more breakthrough bleeding and my periods are very light now with almost now cramps. I used to have very heavy periods and severe cramping before I started it. I also had the sore breast issue but that also went away. Sometimes when I have my period they get a little tender but nothing too bad. I suggests waiting it out a little bit and maybe your side effects will go away like mine did. Oh, I was also on Yaz for a few years then did not take BC pills from 2007-2012 when I started this one.
Thanks for the glimmer of hope! I'll wait it out, its just super annoying
Any chance you've ever skipped the "reminder pills"? On yaz their was only 4 and I would skip them and start a new pack right away every other month. So a period every 7-8 weeks instead of 3.5 ... I'm thinking too long term right now.

Again thanks for the quick response
I skip the reminder pills two packs in a row and them take them on the third pack. This was per my doctor as one of the reasons I am taking Orsythia vs other BC pill is to help with my migraines. I have many migraine triggers including PMS and having my period so reducing the number of periods reduces the PMS and period related migraines. I still get them with my other triggers but it is a great relieve not to have as many migraines.
I just saw this thread, but FWIW I had nausea and dizziness for nearly a month when I first switched. I loved Yaz, and did fine with Giani or whatever the old generic was and hated Lorytha or some similar name and started this medicine a few months ago.
I almost stopped taking it the first month bc the side effects were awful, but now I'm fine. I do not take the reminder pills. I am not a fan of having 7 instead of 4 ( my cycle changed slightly and each month so far I've freaked out bit getting my period sooner), but other than that it's going ok so far. GL!
