I go out to my car this morning and notice a clicking sound coming from my door. The door locks start randomly locking and unlocking. The horn starts randomly sounding. The dome light is flickering. That's probably still happening.
Now I'm waiting for the tow truck to arrive and hoping I can still make it to work in time for an important meeting at 9:30. Tow truck won't get here until 9am. Luckily my mechanic is only 10-15 min from here and my work is pretty close to my mechanic.
But fuck! I don't have the time, energy, or money for this right now. /vent
My battery is less than 2 years old. Luckily I have AAA and it's one of their batteries, so the tow will be free and, if it's the battery that's the problem, that will be replaced for free as well.
I forgot to mention that the dome light hasn't worked in the position the switch is currently in for at least 3 years. Yay older cars! And the alternator was replaced at the same time as the battery.
Hmmmm....I bet it's your anti-theft system. My car did that about a month ago. I got into it, but then it locked me in and the horn started going off and my front lights started flashing. I stopped when I pushed the red button on my keys. I tried starting it later in the day and it was fine. My brother figured it was a glitch with the anti-theft system.
It was my alarm. Not sure if he meant keyless entry or if there are remnants of the after-market alarm that I had removed several years back. The tow truck driver was able to basically reset things and I drove to work. Still going to have my mechanic take a look soon, since I'm almost due for an oil change. Thanks for listening to me vent.

Lol "just your battery dying"... Haha just THAT.
I'm sorry Jess. If it makes you feel better we just dropped 2K on the used car we got. I had to trade in my Yaris because sticking Abby in the two door as she is getting bigger just wasn't happening. We had to replace the struts and breaks. Add tires on the top and its nice a money sucking. Joy! I feel your pain.
