Do you watch commercials?

I don't. I hate commercials, always have. At the very least, I mute them. I love having a DVR.

I also hate hulu commercials. They're so annoying, and they're starting to get longer and more often.

I barely watch TV, much less commercials...


I do have the TV on a lot, but I'm usually doing other things when it's on - cooking, knitting, whatever else. So mostly I listen to the TV...


So, I suppose I listen to commercials. A lot don't make much sense when you only hear them.

I know I'm an odd one - I really like commercials and the whole science behind advertising. I used to memorize commercials as a kid.

I try not to. We only have Hulu and Netflix and I hate the Hulu commercials, especially the Jack in the Box ones. They're so obnoxious.

I thought they passed a law about not making the commercials louder than the program?

I ignore them at all costs. We only use Hulu/Netflix right now, but even during the 45 second break I look away. Check my phone, bathroom, get a drink, etc. When we had cable ( if the program wasn't dvr'ed ) I would use the few minutes to tidy something, vacuum, etc.

Ojo mentioned the volume difference between the program and the commercial. This irritates me also!

I could not be married to you. Occasionally H will unmute or will stop fast forwarding to watch one. It drives me bsc.

I really can't handle when we have a recorded program and he just never bothers fast forwarding. That's the best part of a dvr!

I think so, but that doesn't apply toward something like hulu.

Oh, and I hate commercials so much that even if I'm mindlessly watching something I didn't record, I'll pause it for 10 minutes and do something else so that I can still fast forward.

I don't really care all that much. I mean, I don't love them, but I dont do everything in my power to avoid them either. For a while in grad school, I had an old old TV that did not have a remote, so I pretty much just left it on whatever I was watching. DH will have a show or two for "commercial shows" he is always flipping around to avoid commercials, which bugs me because then I get all invested in the commercial show right before he changes it!

I do hate the loudness of commercials vs TV shows. ug.

This exactly. Even down to the remote.
