Preface: I have no kids and plan to not have any. I am clueless.
For some upcoming birthdays & Christmas, I am looking to give a book and a check/bond towards college. I need help with books!
I need book recommendations for age 6, 3 and 1. edit to include: all boys
I have 3 nephews who all turn 6 in Nov (ack) and the 3 & 1 are younger siblings, so those books will need to be somewhat obscure to ensure they don't already have those books.
I did the Elf in a Box thing last year and that went over REALLY well.
My one year old loves: Bear Snores On Fisher Price Little People lift the flap books (He has At the Farm and Halloween) Dear Zoo Dr. Seuss's ABC book Good Night Gorilla
I don't know what state your nephews live in, but my son loves his state book from this series. Oddly enough, our state isn't listed on this site, but the book exists on Amazon. www.goodnightourworld.com/
Chick n Pug Cat Secrets Z is for Moose Diary of a Wombat The Pigeon Series by Mo Willems Tuck Me In (for the little ones) Anything written by Eric Carle Baby Bear Sees Blue (for the little ones) Bear Snores On
I love all these and all are hits with boys and in story time.

My 6 yr old loves The Magic Tree House book series. there are 44 books in the series.
Captain Underpants
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (there are about 5 of these so you can get them each a different one)
What are they into? DS loves pokemon so I got him some pokemon academy books and when he was into Star wars I got him the Star Wars lego encyclopedia. he also loves any and all books about animals - so he has a few Wild Animal Atlas/Dictionary/Encyclopedias
and he still loves Dr. Suess - he's current reading the Butter Bread Battle
My parents got him subscriptions to National Geographic for kids
This inspired me to look up kid's magazines. Ranger Rick is launching a new magazine... Ranger Rick Jr. for kids aged 4-7. It's $15 for 10 issues and the first issue will be delivered in December. I just ordered it for my nephew.
1 year old: Get a board book version of whatever you get (it's basically a book where the pages are made of cardboard. If you go to an in-person store, there will be a whole "board book" section; if you buy online, choose the "board book" version).
DS likes/liked at that age: - Little Blue Truck - Llama Llama Red Pajama - Sheep in a Jeep - Itsy Bitsy Spider Can't speak to the older kids; sorry.
ETA: I just noticed the obscure requirement. So I struck two of my suggestions.
For the 1 year old anything with different textures, flaps, etc. and or cardboard books. DD got a set of small carboard books for her 1st birthday and she still loves them.
3 - If it is a girl then any of the pinkaliscious, purpleliscious, etc books. For a boy the Smash Crash books are always a hit 6 - sorry no recommendations
