what kind of food to serve

I am doing an event for volunteers at my school on sunday afternoon. I normally do these types of things at 6 pm and I order salads, sandwiches or some sort of dinner.

What type of food do I get for a 3 pm event? Just snacks? Salad & sandwiches? Some sort of fun football/tailgate type food (game is at 4:30 pm?)?

Cheese plate, fruit plate, cookies.

Is this for a HS game or for the Pats game? I ask because if it's HS the game will probably only be 1-1.5 hours and I would do snacks/tailgate food but if it's the Pats the game will be 3 hours and you will probably want something more substantial.

Add a vegetable platter, salsa and chips and pretzels. I find that I never go wrong with pizza no matter what the time.

veggie and fruit trays
brownies or cookies

If people need something heavier, order pizza or make a big pot of chili with fixins (sour cream, cheese, chopped onions, Tostitos).

I ordered a cheese/meat platter with crackers & bread, a fruit platter, and a chip/dip platter from whole foods.

It doesn't have anything to do with the game.
