So this evil crazy cold/flu/throatache from hell hit me. It started Thursday mid afternoon, and on Friday night I suddenly got hot flashes and crazy dizzy that I was afraid I'd actually fall down and stuff. Never had anything that severe happen before with a cold/flu. It sucked.
What sucked more, is that I'm probably very close to ovulating. OPK yesterday was still full on negative, but I usually O on CD 13 and yesterday was CD11, so it could be correct.
Thing is, when I temped this morning, my temp was way high. I'm 95 percent sure it's just because of the cold/flu thing, but since my temp was supposed to rise tomorrow or monday, this will pretty much screw my whole chart up. If the temp falls back down a bit tomorrow or the day after, but still above the cover line I won't know which DPO I'll be on.
Oh and also, for some odd reason when you're that sick and DH practically had to carry you upstairs, he doesn't want to have sex right then and there. Strange huh? (No, honestly, he was really sweet and helpful and honestly worried about me, but all I could think was that we needed to have sex to make sure we're not completely missing O.)
Anyways, long story short, getting sick around O-day really effs up your chart!
I know what you mean -- I was sick a few days before O this month and my chart looks funky. Make a note on your chart that you think you were feverish those days. Keep using the OPKs to catch you LH surge, and look at your temps around that time to see if they rise at all or not. You can choose to "disregard" temps that you think are wonky. Or you can set FF to use your positive OPK results to set your O date instead of temperatures.
And yeah, I get what you mean about the sex:-) It is frustrating when you know you're ovulating and need to have sex, but one or both of you are too sick/tired/whatever to make it happen....
Frustrating! I am actually temping for the first time this cycle, and I feel like I could be coming down with something (or I may just be run down, idk), but I am such a chart/data nerd that I think I'm more disappointed about potentially screwing up my chart than coming down with the plague that's been going around work. lol
And I'm cracking up at the image of him dragging you into bed and you trying to get frisky. How is that NOT sexy? haha
PS, I just noticed your smoking ticker. Congrats on almost a year! That is amazing!
Thanks for the congrats. I'm actually, slowly but surely, becoming an anti-smoker, so that's cool :-)
Re this cycle I guess our timing might still be pretty good. I just used up my very last wondfo (I had a big stash and my cycles/temps have been so clear that I didn't bother buying new ones before I ran out.) and this OPK is finally positive. Which means that yeah, today's temp is probably going to F up the chart by a day or maybe two, but at least we still timed things relatively okay. Not perfect and not as much as other cycles, but still okayish.
And yeah, it's the data nerd in me that's upset about being sick. Any other time in my cycle I would've been all "whatever, don't care" but today it's just F you stupid body, now my chart is unreliable, biatch!

hahaha, wtf?! You're trying to fight an infection with ZERO regard for my chart? Step off!

I was sick during the 2ww a few cycles back. I never had a fever, but my temp was elevated in the morning. It was such a mindfuck, since I knew my temps were elevated due to sickness and not baby, but my chart looked so nice.
You can discard a temp, it doesn't make it go away but it isn't used in your chart. Normally I would say not to do that, but it might help you pinpoint O a little better.
Hope you are feeling better soon! And order some more opk's!
