Anyone have a good brand or particular scent to recommend?
I have a Scentsy warmer and I think I prefer their cubes the best, but I don't have a local rep and want tot smell before I buy. They seem to last the longest. Yankee and Target's brand of tarts don't seem to hold their scent very long. I like the Better Homes and Garden's cubes and candles, but their scents are somewhat hit or miss.

I tend to like warmer baked goods scents for winter, but I like something that isn't just straight up vanilla or cinnamon. I don't oppose either of those when mixed with something else, though. Pumpkin is a favorite right now. Summertime, I prefer fruity scents.
I really like EcoScents and Beanpod for Melts/tarts. Smell good, soybased, cheap and easy to find (my grocery store and drugstore have them for sure). I've also seen them in Gordman's TJMAXX and the like.
I went to a partylite party last night ( Stupid btw. Do people really spend $100.00 on a candle holder their toddler will tip over and $40.00 for a stupid pillar candle? anyways, I digress!) I did win one of their scent melts as a doorprize and she had one going for demo. I bought some (it was all that was affordable) and I think I'll be impressed. I have my doorprize melting today and I like it. Very clean, fresh, strong smell but not overpowering.
That's along the lines of scentsy though..but I think you can buy straight off their website.

How do they all melt? Scentsy's seem to melt most smoothly, and I can never get Yankee or Target's to melt completely without being hard around the edges. I think that affects the scent throw a bit.
They all melt really good! I've never had a problem! Even all the way around, completely melted. They also firm up well. I just pop them out with a knife, throw what is now a melted disc in a ziploc and good to go!
I have two Scentsy warmers, but as much as I've tried to love their scents they are just WAY too strong for me. I agree that the Yankee tarts don't last as long, but they produce a much more subtle smell. I've wasted so much money on Scentsy bricks that just sit in a drawer. I do love their warmers though...I think they're the most attractive/stylish ones on the market.

The BH&G spiced pumpkin pie is amazing! I also got warm autumn welcome but haven't used it yet. The ones at michael's kind of suck. I love the pomegranate one from Scentsy.
I have a ton of Scentsy. I've been really impressed with it. I stay away from the warm, food scents. I'm more partial to the clean, fresh stuff. However, I love Christmas Cottage. It smells amazing, with orange, cinnamon (not overpowering at all), clove, and vanilla.

We get all our cubes at Hobby Lobby--they come in packages of 8 for only $4. I think they last really long too. Right now we've been doing the Cranberry Spice, which is a nice fall scent. I also like the pumpkin harvest for fall.
This isn't someone you can sniff before you buy, but I usually get my wax tarts from Universal Voodoo. They used to be called Alternative Breeding. He makes some really great complex scents in both sweet smells and more atmospheric/outdoorsy ones. My favorite for fall is Wake the Dead. He usually sends samples in your order of other ones he's working on or ones he currently has for sale.
