Any suggestions to add volume without weighing my hair down? TIA!
For light, I love Alterna Caviar Dry Shampoo. I use the Alterna at least 5 days a week. It's very light and doesn't weigh hair down at all. My $20 bottle is over a year old and still about half full. Pssst is OK, but I go through a bottle every 2 months and I only use it for travel. It's around $8 a bottle. It doesn't weigh my hair down, but kind of feels like hair spray. Corn starch sprinkled in your hands and rubbed through is the cheapest route.
For dark hair, Pssst has a version that's OK, but aerosols don't last very long for me. Another option is to mix 1 part cocoa powder with 1 part corn starch. I store that in a salt shaker and sprinkle on my hands to run through my hair. The cocoa makes it blend better and the chocolate smell goes away within an hour.
I find putting it on at night and sleeping in it makes me need a lot less in the morning to keep it from weighing it down. It also let's it absorb into dark hair making less of a chance form white streaks. Look for ones without talc. I hated Sauve and Tresemme. Go the corn starch routes for the cheapest option or get a salon brand.
