Anyone know this? Does NyQuil taken 8 hours before temping lower your temperature? As I said in my previous my chart is effed up post, it looks like my chart is screwed up for this month.
I took NyQuil the last 2 nights before bed because I really couldn't sleep otherwise. I know the acetominophen (tylenol) in there can lower fevers. Now I don't have a full-on fever, but I did have a severely raised temperature, especially the day before O was supposed to happen.
Obviously, my chart's luck, that super high temp day was the day I went to bed without NyQuil.
I'll PIP my chart here, but I'm all confused.
CD12 is definitely feverish. I had a really bad fever-attack the night before, but since my nose wasn't stuffed and I could breath, I didn't take NyQuil (after that sudden onset of fever the night before, I could still breathe, and thought I felt okayish.) I've never had a temp that high in any chart ever unless I had a fever, so I discarded that temp.
Now CD13 is the day that I should have O'd (also based on OPK), but my temp is already rising from CD11 and before, so that suggests a CD12 O. Now I did take NyQuil the night before, which is supposed to lower fever, so it could be that I'm still as high as CD12 but the NyQuil worked. Or that the fever lowered, but I am still feverish OR that I actually got a positive OPK after I O'd (the OPKs on the days before were more negative than I've ever seen them though.)
Now on CD14, the day I should be getting a raise in temp, I took NyQuil again (so same as CD13) I wasn't feeling better when I went to bed, but when I woke up I did feel better than waking up the previous day) and now my temp did rise from the day before. So same cold meds, less feverish, higher temp.
Please to be interpreting my chart!, Should I just discard CD13 as well, or no?
JMO, but 8 hours is a heckuva long time to ask a standard dose of acetomenaphin to keep a fever down. Did you BD on and after the positive OPK? Then I think you're good.
CD 13 is in line with all of the others, so even if you discard it, the line will still have the same slope (if that makes sense). In this case, I would definitely just use the +OPKS to know when you O'd (on or about), and disregard the temps. FWIW, I was sick last month about CD 7-11 and took NyQuil to sleep....for those mornings after NyQuil use, when I was still ill, my temp was increased about 0.3F (so maybe 0.15C?) for those few days. Then it went back down again.

I've ovulated on four different cycle days for the 5 cycles I've charted; FF can only predict, not tell you exactly what day you will ovulate. In the long run I don't think it really matters if it was CD12 or 13; however, since you have been sick, I would continue to use OPKs and temp in case your body geared up to O and didn't, due to the sickness.
