DH got past sauce on his shirt and for reasons I can't begin to understand let the baby (not quite 14 mos) eat pasta with sauce in his clothes So we have some serious spaghetti sauce stains...they have been soaking in oxiclean and hot water since I got home about 9pm last night.
never run hot water or let stained clothes sit in hot water! Its like throwing something with a stain on it in the dryer-makes it harder to get out/permanent. I use a pail of cold water, a 1/2 cup of Oxyclean and let it sit overnight--its taken out beet juice, pasta sauce, blow out stains, etc. But you should also try to get it soaking before it dries on the clothes.

When you use a stain remover it usually says to then wash it in the hottest water available. I think it activates the product or something? I have no idea.

Yes, but you should rinse it with cold water first. Heat sets stains.
