Just got back from my attorney's office where we met with STBX and his attorney. It looks like we may have an agreement with our DDs going to school where I live (the city was specified though) beginning in the Fall 2013 with Joint legal/Shared custody.
He will be keeping our current house and I will be getting a decent amount from it, as well as a decent amount of CS and spousal support (for 3 years). I will have enough for a down payment on a small house or condo. I've actually been looking online and have some in mind.
My attorney is drafting up the agreement and should have it done by the end of the week. I can't help but still be scared and nervous that he'll change his mind or something will fall through. Please keep your fingers crossed that everything falls into place and we can move on and begin adjusting to our new lives!!
ETA: As some of you know, we are currently living together. I need to find my own place in the city that I specified I'd like to live in (best schools in the area).
That's great but the only thing I am worried about is what happens if you end up not finding a place where you are stating or if you have to move for some reason? I would be leery to specify a specific town not knowing what the future holds.

Good luck to you, I've been trying to come to an agreement with my stbx for awhile now, I thought we were done but apparently he wants to make another change... ugh!

This was my initial thought too. Even if I can't find a place to purchase, there is plenty in the area to rent. So I do have several options. And this is a city that I feel the girls and I could be happy staying in for a long, long time. Although, I'm not sure what would happen if 5 years down the road I meet someone and want to move somewhere else. I'll put that on my list to ask my attorney when I see him later in the week. Maybe we can put a clause in there.

That is a good idea. definitely ask. You are really limiting yourself no matter how great the area is.
