WWYD? On the way that I drive home I have to make a left hand turn off of a main road. About 5 or 6 times a month I am nearly hit by someone trying to make a left hand turn out of the road I am making a left hand turn onto. In the last 6 months I have nearly been hit by a school bus, a Kitsap transit bus, a UPS truck, a FedEx truck and numerous other cars and small trucks. I always have my turn signal on but the problem is if I turn it on too early I assume they think I'm turning into the apartment complex parking lot which is about 60 feet from the road I have to turn on. If I don't turn my turn signal on until after I pass that entrance I nearly get hit by the cars behind me. There is no turn lane and only a stop sign on the road that I make the left onto not the main road. I'm thinking I should write a letter to the City Council and maybe also a letter to the editor of the local paper to make sure that people pay attention pulling out of that road. Who would you contact?
Yeah, I agree with jennuinne, unless you're looking for something to be done and fixed I dont think sending a letter to just remind people is going to do any good.
Then I would contact city council (there may be a time to come and speak), any other local politicians and maybe the police department, saying you want a stop sign and why. I'd take pictures of the area also.
I agree with this.
I also would put your signal on early, oh well if people think you're turning somewhere else.
But this reminds me of the Modern Family episode where Claire wants the stop sign (or speed bumps, I can't remember) in her neighborhood and ends up wanting to run for the council.
