Favorite Part of the day? It went by so fast but I did take a minute to look around the room and the dance floor was packed and everyone I loved looked like they were having a great time. :heart:

Autumn 2004.
Stressful? A little. I worked as a Director of Sales at our venue, so everyone wanted to ask me questions all day, like it was any other wedding day. But it was my wedding day and I just wanted everyone to figure it out.
Change? Some random woman stood up and sang during our reception. She was a neighbor of H's dad. That was weird. I was in my wedding dress after the reception in on of the bars at the resort and a client of mine came up to talk business with me. Really? I want to talk about YOU on my wedding day.
It was a gorgeous day. The colors were so beautiful. I don't have pics on this computer, I need to find some.

Yes, the morning was stressful. Trying to get everyone where they needed to go on time got to me. They probably didn't mean to, but the girls made it tougher than necessary, with some getting hair done, some not, some coming at different times, etc. Roads were snowy too, which did not help. Then the photographer wouldn't let up with the "getting ready" pics. I was annoyed that I was ready, but he made me 15 mins late to the ceremony.

I really wanted a later ceremony than 1pm. And in retrospect, a better photographer.

Once I got to the church I could relax and let everything happen.

Was your wedding day stressful at all? Yes. The limo driver got lost coming to get us and we were on a tight schedule with the church, so I was freaking out. It was fine, though. Also, the DJ messed up a bunch of stuff that I was mad about.
If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? Different DJ, the guy was an asshat. Probably different photographer but that's a long story.
Favorite Part of the day? Doing pictures at the PITT basketball arena was really fun Just loved having fun at the reception with our family & friends!

Was your wedding day stressful at all? We got married a week after the 8.8 earthquake, and we did have some last minute stuff related to the earthquake - H's grandmother almost didn't come because his uncle who was going to drive her had to work, the wine never got delivered so BIL had to run out with all the cash we had to buy some - but overall not really. We were just glad it was happening and that the stress of the previous week was over.
If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? My godmother and her family couldn't come since their flights were canceled due to the earthquake. I would have magically made them arrive.
Favorite Part of the day? Right before the end of the reception, H's friends showed a video they made for us. In that moment, I was just so happy to be married and to be celebrating with everyone.

Was your wedding day stressful at all? No, but I was a nervous wreck about walking down the aisle and the ceremony for some reason. Strange because I'm not usually afraid of being in front of a crowd.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? Nothing really

Favorite Part of the day? The afterparty. Specifically, playing freezetag until like 3 am on the lawn of the venue with some of my closest friends (we were spending the night, and had the place to ourselves).

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? I wish we hadn't booked our honeymoon for a flight that left at 6am the next morning.

Favorite Part of the day? looking out on our dancefloor and seeing so many important people from different facets of our life together. I think the top shelf bar helped with this :drink:

Was your wedding day stressful at all? Not really. I was nervous to have all eyes on me and I did worry a bit about the weather. It looked like it was going to rain.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? My photographer. She sucked. The first thing I said to myself when I saw my pictures was "I'm ugly". Not exactly the way you want to feel on your wedding day.

Favorite Part of the day? Can I pick two? 1) Feeding each other the cake - I mean the process itself was nothing out of the ordinary, but my nerves had calmed down a bit and I was just really happy. 2) Dancing with all my friends and family. People went crazy.

Favorite Part of the day? Watching my husband give my DD a necklace as a token of his promise to be the best father to her that he could be and later they had a Father/Daughter dance of their own at the reception.

Favorite Part of the day? We had take-out boxes filled with conversation hearts as the favor. DS (who was almost 3) took them off of every table at the end of the night and dumped them all in a huge pile. He wrapped his arms around them and looked at us with this serious look and said "these are all mine...I need a bigger box"

What year were you married? 2005

Was your wedding day stressful at all? uh, yes. It had rained for 10 days straight before the wedding which caused a couple of issues, one being our basement flooded. I stayed at a hotel the night before and I got a call from DH at 2am after the rehearsal saying the basement flooded. He cleared everything and went to bed. When he woke up the next morning it flooded again. So, he and the other guys worked on clearing the water. Plus, our church decided to replace the carpet the week before and the glue wasn't drying. So, at one point they offered the bingo hall to us instead. Thankfully everything worked out the day of.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? We had a fabulous time! If I could change anything... maybe not have a flight at 8am the next morning to go on our honeymoon, we were so wiped out!

Favorite Part of the day? Seeing my husband at the end of the aisle. We had such a stressful morning (I hadn't seen him at all that day), but we were on the phone with each other quite a bit.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? Hire a coordinator so my mom would have been less stressed out. (She did a fine job as my wedding coordinator, but it didn't leave her any time to be mom.)

Yeah, but we did that to ourselves by having a full weekend wedding and thus a lot of events to coordinate and execute. It also didn't help that our coordinator quit two days prior and our pastor went into the hospital 24 hours before the ceremony.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be?
I would have found a back up coordinator when mine quit 2 days before the wedding.

Right after the ceremony when H and I had ten minutes to ourselves.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? Hire a different photographer. She dropped the ball on so many things I asked (taking pictures from a list we created, brining an assistant.) I was so overwhelmed I didn't notice, but now I'm sad there are no solo pictures of me in my dress (but there are tons of dh) or me with my mom.

Favorite Part of the day? Seeing the smile on DH's face when I walked in, and saying our vows.

I was married in 2010.
I wasn't stressed at all - I was a very chill bride. On the day, everything was out of my control - my job was to have an awesome time and marry the man I love.
My only regret is the number of "formal" pictures we took in the church. We spent $$$$ on our package, and I hate almost all of them. We didn't get any fun shots with family and wedding party - just stuffy ones at the altar. FTR, I love the rest of my pictures though.

I was married in 2005

I wasn't stressed at all. I did however, stress in the 9 months prep prior, so I figured that if it wasn't done by then, it wasn't getting done. I had a really awesome day.

Hmm, DH and I have talked about that before and really, the only thing we'd change is that DH and his groomsmen would have worn bowties instead of straight ties LOL

Favorite part of the day was probably driving away with DH at the end of the night. Not that the whole day wasn't awesome, but it was so nice to be able to just breathe and be with him.



We had the ceremony out by the pool, cocktail hour out on the verandah and reception up in the ballroom.

Was your wedding day stressful at all? not really - I was a pretty calm and happy bride (plus I'm a planner by nature, so everything was well organized)
If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? I was disappointed in my flowers; looking back, I wish I would have hired a more experienced florist, even if it had cost more $$
Favorite Part of the day? saying our vows; there was sunlight streaming in through a stained glass window at the church, so we were bathed in beautiful afternoon light; it was such an amazing moment

Was your wedding day stressful at all? not really, but I'm a laid-back person in general. Oh, the limo broke down while we were taking photos at the park, but they sent a new one ASAP and it didn't majorly delay us.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be? My mom crashed the father-daughter dance and dragged my brother and sister with her and did some kind of weird group-hug swaying thing with all of us. Then she danced with my brother for the rest of the song. I was pretty pissed about it at the time because my mom has a tendancy to be a big AW at times, but now that Dad's gone I like having that family photo to remember. I wish I had been less pissy and just appreciated the moment a little more.

Favorite Part of the day? nothing in particular, I'm just glad everyone we loved best could be there.

We got married in Hawaii and only had 13 guests. Our venue was nothing special- a gazebo at our hotel. We had dinner in a private room at a restaurant.

If you could change anything about the experience, what would it be?
- The crappy photographer. I wanted to hire a professional but IL's family friend does it as a hobby so I didn't want to hurt his feelings. ILs all said he was awesome so I took their word for it. Luckily my FSIL is an amazing photographer and took awesome pics. Plus I had an amazing video crew who got everything.

- Really though, I'd scrap the whole wedding thing and go destination. For the amount we spent, we could have flown and rented out enough over-water bungalows for 20 of our closest family members to Bora Bora for one week. If it wasn't for MIL putting ideas in my head and making me feel bad, I would have gotten what I wanted.

Favorite Part of the day? 1- We had the traditional Chinese tea ceremony first and it was fun letting H and his groomsmen bribe my bridesmaids to let him have me. H paid $500 and a credit card with no limit to 6 bridesmaids haha.

2- The reception. H and I choreographed the tango which was a secret. It was fun surprising people and funnier when H mis-stepped and we had to start over haha. For up to a year after, people told us it was the funnest wedding they've ever been too!
