I liked Twinkie Tush on Facebook like two years ago when Lucy was in some sort of contest so I largely have Jenny to thank for my obsession with them. Does anyone know the quality of the diapers and what brand you'd compare them to? I mean obviously they cost six million dollars so I assume they're good but I'd love to hear reviews.
Also how do you buy them? The whole hyena cart thing intimidates me. Are there any other fancy CD makers out there you like that don't have such a weird buying process?
I'm gonna have to space out these purchases with fun money because aint no way DH will approve of $60 CDs.
TT diapers are amazeballs. Super absorbent, crazy cute, fit perfectly. They are a luxury diaper though. Don't trick yourself into thinking you NEED them. They are a want. I bought quite a few early on before they got crazy popular and have bought/traded with other fans since then so I have about a dozen of them. At about $40 a pop spreading out the purchases is definitely needed. G is not big enough for the one size diapers yet, but she wore one of the newborn sized ones and now fits in the little tush size. As absorbent as they are you don't NEED a cover during the day since you change diapers every 2-3 hours, but at night you need a cover for sure. Wool is best IMO.
I also have about a dozen goodmamas. Not as absorbent and they are smaller than the TTs (close to the little tush size) and some misc. fitted brands that were more in the $20-30 range.
You can CD without buying pricey fitteds, however many find that fitteds are excellent for overnight, especially if your kid is a heavy wetter.
TTs and other fitted diapers are not really daycare diapers though. Daycares doing usually want to have to deal with covers, then want an AIO or pocket diaper.
Thanks Pugz. So did you just make sure you loaded the web site at exactly 2 on a Wednesday and you got lucky? Why doesn't she hire more people? Gah being exclusive makes me want them more. I don't know if the day care we're looking at even allows CDs but I may buy some just for special occasions.
as for buying them, you have to be available at stocking times (8pm or 2pm it alternates each Wednesday) and you need a fast internet connection, fast fingers, and lots of luck. Joining large groups for the monthly custom drawings is a good way to get them too. Enlisting stalking buddies to try to stalk a diaper for you is helpful too.
she just increased production, so this week was her largest stocking with 80 diapers and it sold out in less than 30 seconds as usual. She started the business in her living room, sewing them all herself. It's a delicate balance between increasing production and keeping costs reasonable, she just had to raise prices with the new staff she hired and new work space.
Buying a couple is probably a good start. I know Brie has a couple but mostly has BG and FB pockets for daycare. Like I said, fitteds are good for overnight. I know people that just have a few of them for nights only.

Yeah, I think I have 5 or so. For us they will be primarily overnight/weekend/photo op diapers since DC can only do pockets or AIOs.
We have one little tush we use for overnights now and it works great. We use Thirsties covers and I also have a few Blueberries for later.
I justify the $$ because you can usually resell for close to full price.
