DH and I are taking a trip up there with another couple this weekend, none of us have ever been. We will be staying in a condo, and from what I understand it will be right downtown. We will not have a car.
I love it there! Love the aquarium. I can't remember any restaurant names as it has been a few years since I was there last, but will be going for a week this summer. Post a review of your weekend with any recs you have, please!

there is a nestie - Earls_bride that lives there - I think she posts on the travel board and F&B maybe? she had great recommendations when I went over a year ago. I can't remember all the places I ate - but DH and I loved Vancouver - it's a VERY walkable city.
We did love the Capilano suspension bridge.
STanley park is pretty cool - they have an on/off trolley ride you can take around the city that we liked.
the aquarium was nice - but we've seen a lot of aquariums so it's not really top of our list. we did a ferry ride around the bay.
Granville Island was a lot of fun and we liked the beers at the Granville Brewery.
we had an amazing dinner one night at West Restaurant and Bar 4881 Granville. I'll try to find the other places we ate!

Robson Street is a lot of fun - just walk up and down. We loved walking around the waterfront and there is the olympic site next to the convention center.
we also ate at Joe Fortes Saefood (sat on the top) Robson and Thurlow.
there is a fabulous Indian restaurant called Vij that we heard raves about but weren't able to get in.
Gastown was fun - we had poutine at a corner bar/resaturant right near Water St and Cordova (can't remember the name)
