I need to pick a new color to paint my new living room. I have a beautiful deep red sofa set that is going to go in there. I was thinking a light gray? Maybe something like like sherwin williams unique gray or swanky gray. Help me!

I have a griege with some deep red accents. I love it. It's BM's Pashmina. Looks beige on the swatch but grey on the walls. The room was painted Revere Pewter by the previous owners, but I found that to be too light, to me it just looked like a dingy white.
Forgive the mess in this picture, it was when we first moved in and shoved everything we could in bookcases to be out of the way.
I googled blogs about the perfect gray and the one I found mentioned over and over again is Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore. I painted my living room with it last weekend and love it. At first I thought it was too light, but now that I've seen it in different lights it is perfect.

We are hoping to close on the 5th or the 6th. We have to send the HUD1 do BOA (the seller's bank) and then they have to issue the clear to close and that can take up to 5 business days. We are clear to close on our end.
You'll really need to try a couple of colors on the wall with lighting that you have to see which specifically looks best.
Agree w/kcpoker: we just painted a couple of our rooms and esp. w/the greiges, each color looked completely different depending on the room and the time of day b/c the lighting varies so much from room to room and from morning to night. We wound up doing test swatches on a couple of different walls in each room before making final decisions.
(FWIW, we settled on SW's Versatile Gray for a low light north facing room and I'm in love...it reads mostly gray, but still has some warmth to it. Love greiges.)

Yeah I really don't want anything that looks beige at all on the walls. I love the look of that BM antique pewter. The revere pewter is too beige for me I think.
