How to add a gif to signature?

First, and avatar question, which I did figure out on my own. Now, a gif question...

Do I just copy the link into the signature portion of my profile? That's what I've tried and the only thing that happens is the link shows as my signature. I am so challenged in this department, lol.

Put the link for .jpg between and [/IMG] under signature. I just figured it out myself.
