I just got an FB invite to a baby shower. No issue there, it's a way many people communicate now, especially if you don't have an address.
First problem-I haven't talk to this girl in about 8 years. Not even a "hi" on the street. She is one of those people I added in undergrad and forgot about. I didn't even know I was still friends with her until this invite. WHY would you invite me?
Second problem-Here is why-she invited OVER 700 PEOPLE! So, you just invited everyone on your FB? really? Is that okay?
Third and Major problem-It is an "online baby shower" We send them gifts, they send pictures and thank you cards! So, let me get this right-you have invited EVERYONE on your FB to give you gifts, yet we don't even get cake!?! The ONLY reason to go to a baby shower is for the cake! WTF? HOW IS THIS OKAY!?! Tell me "online baby showers" are NOT a thing. Please?

Oh, he is coming sooner than expected, so they can't get to every state in the world to get their gifts. But seriously? >700 people DO NOT need an invite. send a private email to those close to you. Even that I think is kind of tacky. If people want to get you a gift, they will ask where you are registered.
Decline. Distasteful. Baby showers should be for close friends who revel in your happiness of being a mom, not to get as many gifts as possible. Only online is even worse. De- friend. She doesnt sound like much of one amyway

It is tacky. The lack of self-awareness in people never ceases to amaze me. How can they not realize how selfish and greedy they look? I agree with BB, I would de-friend.
WOW I would not have been able to hold back lol I'd tell her how tacky it was and THEN de friend.
I was REALLY tempted to make a FB post about it, but I just deleted and moved on. No point in causing drama. Instead I came here and whined to you guys!
