I went to one of Dd2s classmates houses this weekend. It was fabulous as they usually are & I got to wondering what they do for a living. So I goggled her (the moms) name & one of the things that came up was their wedding being featured on The Knot. Now I'm feeling like I need to be more careful with my identity...I don't want my worlds colliding.

She may never have ventured to the message boards. Or she may be here but not on MM I always wonder what the chances of someone not only finding me on this website and this board.
I was thinking of becoming a La Leche leader, but the leader I was talking to was taking forever and give me mixed messages.
She found my post bitching about her (not here, on the Bump).
It was a catalyst to me not doing that. Honestly, probably for the best. If you have to tell me thirty seven times how great it is that LLL doesn't have a problem with working mom leaders... any more.... it's because they kind of still do.

I know there is at least one person on here I know IRL and have thought about starting over with a new SN, but I'd lose reg status and the whole global mod thing complicates it. Bah.
I'm a teacher and I have a mom in my class right now that I "know" from my old local board. I'm so tempted to drop a hint and see what happens, but I also don't want to create any weirdness with this family! I was basically a lurker on my old local and she was a die hard regular, so I'm afraid it would be a little too "stalkerish." I have no idea if she migrated over here.

Over 5 years ago, a high school friend saw one of my posts on MM under my old screen name. She put two and two together and figured out who I was and PMed me. It definitely made me want to be more anonymous. I didn't necessarily mind her finding me, but it made me realize how much information I was putting out there.

It's a small world and I think the nest was larger than we all imagined, especially with all of us being around the same age. I've met two nesties, mmers in real life through my work. It was sooooo awkward not saying anything IRL. But I imagined it would be more weird admitting it.

Cue someone with a story.
My DH is no longer friends with one of his besties from college. I found his fiancee talking smack about me and our wedding plans on the old Married Life boards shortly after we got engaged. She had no idea I was on The Knot boards too. Drama ensued between both sides.
Be careful what you put out there on the internet. People always have a way of stumbling onto things.
i've tried to get a couple people to post here. Most people IRL know about this place. So if I ever have anything I don't want completely out in the open, I've created AE's. Well not on GBCN but on the nest I had AE's.
