I bought some camel pants and my nude heels don't really go with them, so I was thinking about brown. But then I was thinking that I'm not really sure I've seen anyone wear brown heels and I'm wondering if they're old lady-ish.
Yes, I have a pair of brown patent slingbacks with a crocodile texture from Ann Taylor. They are really classic, IMO. I wear them with camel and brown pants.

Yes. I've worn brown shoes with camel color pants. I don't really where my camel shoes with pants unless the pants are patterned or have camel as a color, but not the main one. I find them easier to wear with dresses.
I have a pair of heels in all of the basic colors (black, brown, nude, camel and navy). Whatever I'm wearing is bound to go with one of those colors.

I have a pair (but my fashion sense is questionable at best...) They're a chocolate brown and I wear them with choco-brown pants or lighter camel-colored pants.
Yes and they are 4 inches. I'm actually wearing them today. I think brown would go well with camel. You could also do black shoes, camel pants and a black top.
I personally like having a basic color (black, red, brown and nude) in all my heights of shoes; flats, boots, heels, wedges.
I don't own a pair but I also don't think they're ugly. I believe that it depends on the style of the heels and not the color to say if they're old lady-ish.

I like these ones that J from J's Everyday Fashion wears
They are Nine West:http://www.ninewest.com/Love-Fury/8724599,default,pd.html?variantSizeClass=&variantColor=JJ1ABPA&cgid=9284240&prefn1=catalog-id&prefv1=ninewest-catalog
I'm LOLing that you can't find a decent pair for under $300.
Pointy shoes are still in. I think it's a personal preference. I have a mixture of both. I like the pointy toes for a more edgy look, while my rounded toes are more polished.
