(If it's not apparent how clueless I am when it comes to outfitting myself, this should make it clear) Let's talk about belts. I own a couple skinny belts, but basically for wearing over shirts above my waist. I HATE tucking things in because I don't think it looks good on me (I don't have a super defined waist where most pants fall), but I'm wondering if belts are still a necessity. Do you wear them to actually keep your pants up or just as an accessory? Thin belts or thick belts? thru the loops or somewhere else? I need a lot of help people.
I can't remember the last time I wore a belt. I feel that make me look even skinnier and I hate it.
I'd love to rock some fun colored skinny belts though. If you don't need them to hold your pants up, then wearing them as accessories is just fine. Also, thick belts around the middle look good too.
Although if you do want to wear them through the loops maybe some high-waist pants will work.
I wear belts to keep my pants up. I think it looks more polished to wear a belt too, even if you don't wear a shirt tucked in. Throughout the day my shirts are bound to shift around and I don't like the of "empty" belt loops. I've tried wearing belts over a cardigan and I just can't keep the belt in place is moves all over the place. I do like the look though, just can't pull it off.
