We are very lucky we had no damage .....some people have nothing left. I am really grateful for that. I have been sitting on the couch all day reading and now giana is reading to me. My poor h is sitting in a line at the gas station trying to get some gas for generator.
I'm going to. Take a ride to my friends tomorrow if I can get through....I went to my dads last night for a shower. He has no power either but he has water.

*hugs*
Could you play card or board games with your family while it's light out, as a break from reading? Or swap books/magazines with neighbors, if you run out of reading material?
Well g just left so I'm alone now... I could be trapped for 3 months and never run out of books...I have at least 30 here that I haven't read yet...I'm a bit of an addict.

I hope you can take some time to enjoy unplugging for a while! I know it's hard but sometimes we need a break from the electronic world. I know I do. Where do you live?
Glad that you have no damage to your home. Will you have power when the generator's gas (and hubby) returns? Hope so! I've heard from friends, some of who are in Brigantine and Atlantic City, how bad it is down there. SO glad you're overall OK. Hope the power comes back on soon though.
hang in there! I'm in ocean county in point, I know finding gas is getting hard, we got lucky before 5 am today without an hour drive. There were lines but it seems the way to go!
Home depots seem to be getting generator deliveries over night, a few neighbors and ourselves went at 5 and got lucky. Just hoping to spread any info that could be useful.
glad you are safe Mags & Secretariat. you guys get power back yet? i know some parts of Jersey have it. Though it seems when we were there yesterday, we couldn't find a gas station open anywhere.
Thank the Lord my house in Hopatcong was undamaged. A neighbor had a tree go right through their house
our house in PA still has no power, but at least 2 of our friends close by do. but i'm with you the reading. i have a small library. but we were stupid and never got our generator hooked up...so it gets a bit cold in the house.
We've been told no power till the 9th or later, we're heading out to help again in the clean up. Finally having the generator is awesome, we have 3 neighbors fridges hooked up. Our local area is a wreck, We will rebuild!
I can't believe that places like sea bright are just totally done, and bayhead (by me) is split by a waterway now.
Still no power...which means no water.... Stll luckier than some...the town next to us is half destroyed.....boats inside restaurants....homes demolished Gas is the main problem it seems. I'm cold...fire wood is running out.... But we r fine and our home is fine... My sister lost her house in seaside...thank god they didn't stay there.

I'm sorry Mags for your losses and everyone else effected. I hope you get power back soon. I feel a little bad for sitting in my warm house on the west coast.
