Since the hurricane has everything in shambles and most restaurants (even take out) are closed, I think I will cook for work dude Friday. First time cooking for somebody in a while....ideas??? I was thinking some nice porterhouse steaks, but then my grill pan will smoke up my kitchen and I have to be very attentive to cooking. He's not picky, neither am I. Any of your fave go to recipes/links are appreciated. Thanks

The first time I cooked dinner for Mars I made tacos...it was simple and fun and I got all different types of salsas ( i.e. mango, fresh, hot, etc), and I used ground turkey and steak. The presentation was very pretty and colorful and it was just fun to put different combos on our tacos...
Another suggestion is beer bbq pulled chicken...we made this dish together it sooo good, we used Yuengling Lager:

Ok, here's what you do. But a whole chicken. Dump that fucker in the crock (removing the giblets and grossness, obvs). Dump salt and pepper on it. Shove half a stick of butter in it, along with a fistful of fresh rosemary. Slice up 2 lemons (circles, not wedges) and place them on the surface of the chicken, with a few slices inside it.
That's it. That chicken will be perfect.
I usually serve it with steamed vegetables, and either brown rice or red bliss potatoes.
I just made this this weekend, and it's never a dud. You'll also have a ton leftover for chicken salad.

Sounds easy and awesome! Gotta love the crock pot..
Seriously, it's delicious, provided you like rosemary and lemon! The only downside is, it doesn't look pretty. But who cares? Pick out a breast and a leg and plop them on a plate. Hand plate to boy. Boy will be happy.
