Earlier this week I posted about quitting my job and got some good advice. Well a few days later I got a call for a phone interview in my current location (still away from DH) I applied for a while back, before we knew about DHs potential management training opportunity.
That said, I accepted the interview? Initially, I started to say no, but then said nothing is solidified, and I shouldn't get ahead of myself with the "what ifs".
Would you have gone ahead with the interview? If it progresses to an in-person interview and/or offer, I guess I could ask then about flexibility.
I'll be in a meeting, so I may not be able to answer right away.
If you think there is ANY potential that it's a job you'd be interetsed in or that they'd be flexible, then yes, take it.
But I don't believe "never" turn down an interview. THis came up recently - I live in Baltimore. I only want to work in Baltimore. A few years ago a company in DC reached out to me. I have absolutely NO interest in working in DC (the COMMUTE!!!). And my job is one that while I can work SOME from home, I sure as heck can't most of the time.
I am not going to waste my time going down into DC for an interview for a job I know that I absolutely will not be interested in taking.

Definite interest, and am unsure of the flexibility at this point. It's government, so the potential is there, but of course that is agency and supervisor specific.
Ditto ECB. DH regularly turns down recruiters who want him to apply for positions that just wouldn't fit us. But when he was actively searching for his current job, he went on a lot of interviews if they seemed to be a reasonable fit
