Someone I am contemplating I friending posted something about how NYC is back to normal. Someone pointed out that this is not the case south of 40th. Her response: "yeah, we'll in the UWS it's like nothing happened."
What a self-centered douche.
A friend (who lives on the Lower East Side, so she has no power and such) overheard these on the line at Hale & Hearty today: "Not only do we have Lincoln Center and the Met, but we have power! God I love living uptown." and "East Village hipsters don't shower anyway."
Grr.
And hey -- having lived on the Upper East Side for 5 years, I'd take West Village + a week of no power/water/heat/elevator/gas/public transportation over living above 34th Street but being unscathed by the storm -- hands down, no questions asked. SO THERE, SMUG UPTOWNERS!
