A Facebook invite: A BABY SHOWER FOR (baby's name) My House- send a message for address and directions Help us welcome our new bundle of Joy coming our way. I'll be registering at Walmart. I can also play the football game for anyone who wants to see it. :-) Can't wait to see everyone there!

It was a girl I went to highschool with...I unfriended her. Strangely it wasn't to everyone that she friends with just 36 people and somehow she picked me. I had to look up our mutual friends to even figure out how I knew her.
Message for address and directions? She couldn't even put that in?
She probably wanted to be able to say, "I live at 123 Brown Drive and oh by the way, I need a new stroller so you be a peach and pick that up? Thanks."
Urg. I got a similar one for a second baby. Then after the shower, right on cue, a post thanking those of her friends who cared enough to come. Lol. Nope, not me!
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
My cousin's kid (a teen mom) just put a general status update on FB for "anyone who wants to come to our baby shower, send me a message!". And then repeated it every two days for like three months.
If I had the balls, I'd show up and eat a ton and then give her an etiquette book as a gift.
You assume she is providing food.
Haha, true.
I'm sure the "message me for directions" thing is just for her to see how many people beg her to come to her precious shower. Like those stupid "I'll delete you if you don't reply" messages.
I've been to a couple of "welcome the baby" type parties, which have generally been thrown by parents after the baby is born, so they can set out a date/time for people who are interested in seeing the newborn to come by. Could it be meant as something like that? With the name included in the invitation, it might lead me to that conclusion.
Although, generally, these folks haven't registered anywhere, and I view it as similar to going to a baby's Christianing or similar event.

Good point...and I'm not sure as I don't know her that well. Someone replied "wait, is this for you" and she said "(Husband/boyfriend) didn't tell you? We're having a baby"

Is she throwing herself a shower at like 10 weeks or something?
