Does $5 in a Halloween card get a TY note?

Nothing in my family gets thank you notes. It would get a thank you phone call so the recipient knew it arrived.

I've sent gifts to my nieces and nephews for years and received zero notes. As long as someone tells me it arrived, I'm good.

Yes, in my family, any gift, no matter what size, gets a hand-written thank you. It's the way I was brought up, DH has grown accustomed to it, and how we will raise DS.

Our kids get cards with money in them from their nana ALLTHETIME. We always make sure DD calls to thank her. It's so sweet.

Depends who sent it. If it's my BSC nana then yeah, I'll write a thank you, put a recent pic of the dog/us in there and send it.

Other family, doubtful although I know my mom will LOVE getting thank yous from the baby. She loves when she gets thank yous from our best friends son b/c she spoils him too.

A phone call should suffice. In our families, people appreciate a thank you phone call (and therefore a chance to chat and catch up) more than a note. I think it's okay to do whatever you are comfortable with.

My mom always sends boxes for Halloween and Easter. The kids call and thank her and I take pics while they are opening and email those off.

Depends on the giver. DD has been getting the occasional card/gift from friends of my DH's grandmother or mom who I don't know (and who DH barely knows if at all). If one of those people sent $5, yes, I'd send a thank you note.

If it was one of our parents, grandparents, or a friend, I'd let them know it arrived and say thanks via email or phone.
