I've bought the one pictured (from HD), but haven't installed it yet. We got a cushy one with a splash guard, and DS doesn't like it. I don't like how tall it is and I'm sure that's part of his problem.
Something like PP posted would work great for my DS2, I love that design. DS1, however, just could not get the hang of pointing his anatomy down until a few months after he was potty trained. He needed something with a guard in the front. I can't remember how old your DS is, but it's something worth considering.
I've had this saved on my Amazon wish list for probably 2 yrs. I don't want to forget that it exists. Such an amazing product, and better than those plush/squishy toddler seats that you have to place and remove. I want to avoid a separate potty chair if at all possible. They gross me out. I always put kiddos on the regular toilet when potty training. Using a chair seemed to delay progress as they seemed to find it more like a game. A cute stool to get up to the actual toilet seemed more effective.
And these rings look SO much easier to clean. Very sanitary.

Check Amazon. I think you can buy little stick on plastic guards inexpensively. I know I saw them online recently.

Excellent idea! I hadn't even considered that that could be an option.
Another vote for this. It is so much better than a potty ring- way easier to clean, and easier for the kids to quickly put down when they really have to pee bad.
We are big fans of the Baby Bjorn ring. A friend handed theirs down to us, and it's awesome. It's shaped properly (not round!) and the integrated splash guard is perfect for DS.
