I picked my SIL for Secret Santa for Christmas. My mom's been saying she'd love a little shawl or something to wear in the evenings in LA. I also bought some laceweight yarn (yummy wool/silk blend) and found a pattern for a shawlette. I can do this in 6 weeks, right? It's on size 6 needles, so it's not like I'm working on tiny circs or something.
I'm also tempted to put other projects to the side just to get this one started. Thus breaking my rule of starting nothing before I finish something.
Aaaand, I just found errata. Fortunately I hadn't gotten far enough for it to matter, but it certainly makes the third pattern chart make much more sense. And I'm so not using bison yarn. I love my SIL, but not that much

That's pretty DrL! You can totally do it by Christmas! I can't imagine that much bison yarn... $$$ (My brother keeps asking for a cashmere blanket. To which I reply: You buy the yarn, I'll make the blanket)
I'll get all my stuff done: no kids, and DH is currently unemployed, so no housework (and very little cooking) either.
