Is what I want to tell all 32 (seriously, 32) people who have contacted me to to ask "had you had that baby yet?" FIL, who is on a cruise and therefore has terrible phone service, called 22 times this morning until the stars finally aligned long enough for H to tell him "no baby yet."
My MIL (they're divorced) just texted to ask. My standard response is "We'll let you know when there is something to know. I promise it won't be more than a week after she's born."
I'm working really hard to not be bitchy.
Word to the wise: tell people you're due 2-4 weeks after your actual expected due date.
That is annoying, but try to take it as love and caring. Your baby will come when it is ready! If you want to let everyone know right away you can draft an email with a message and all of the email addresses saved, but only if you want to
I can understand people that call to ask you something else, "what are your plans for Xmas? By the way, have you had that baby yet? " but to call just to ask that? Silly.
Dh's mom got like this once I was overdue. After a couple days, dh decided he would amicably put a stop to it. So over the course of 24 hrs he called them like 10 times to ask them random questions ("how's the cat?", "did you have lunch yet", "anything good on tv?" )

She got the hint
Hilarious! Love this!!
Ha! Fabulous!
I've started a tally. My standard response is now "congrats! You're the xx person to ask me that today and the yy all weekend! Sadly, there are no prizes. No, we have t had the baby. I promise we won't go more than a week without telling people."
Yeah. He Just. Kept. Calling. When H was finally able to pick up FIL said "we'll I thought maybe you were at the hospital" to which H replied "and don't you think she would kick my balls in if I answered the phone to chat with you during labor? WE WILL CALL YOU."

My parents called and joked," are you having contractions?" We werent going to tell people because they were 10 minutes apart and very sporadic. But I didnt want to lie. They only asked that one time and didnt even believe me when I said "actually, yes" But considering I was 3 days late, I never got any "baby, yet.?" calls. I guess my friends and family didnt care!
