I like the colors, complimenting without being matchy matchy. :y:
You might want to add some layers for more depth. Like undershirts that peek out for the guys. You could also do a chunky necklace or fun scarf for yourself.
Are the photos indoor or outdoor? My only concern is Dd's dress being cream or winter white with similarly colored tights. Does it come in any other colors? I'm not sure white/cream is the best for pictures, it tends to wash people out.

We're doing them outside
DD's dress also comes in red, but I didn't think it looked good with the purple dress, which I already own. I like the idea of plum tights instead of gray.
I also like the idea of a scarf or necklace for me. What about a belt, too? Do you think that would be too much?
I also combed our photographer's website and found some great fall photos of a family (not us, unfortunately!) whose outfits I thought were great. They are here: www.swadestudiosphotography.com/?p=1032
I also searched Pinterest for 'photo outfit ideas' and got lots of ideas from other photographer's websites. I think you've gotten some good feedback from pp's and would agree that incorporating a print somewhere (and some fun accessories, probably for you...or a maybe a fun tie for your son? We didn't wind up using it, but I found a great one on ties.com for my 3 year old...) would help tie things together a little.
I like it. However, the first thing our photographer does is have us sit DD on the ground, or us all sit down on the ground. I'd just keep that in mind- your DD's outfit might get dirty pretty quickly.
