So I posted the other day about how I ordered some stuff from target.com. The package comes, and it has none of the items I ordered inside. Instead, they are two random things.
I have been super busy so I just got around to calling them. They are so annoying. Basically there is nothing they can do. They won't reship me the actual items I ordered. I have to jump through a million hoops and then mail back the incorrect items. Then I have to place a new order. Then I have to call back to get the price adjusted, because the items were on sale. Oh, and I have to wait 24 hours after placing the order until I call.
They are annoying. I don't understand why target is soo inflexible regarding their returns. Those morons sent me the wrong stuff and I am just so irritated.
That's ridiculous. I'd just take the items back to the store and order new ones from elsewhere with that kind of service. That's totally inconvenient!
I had the same thing happen last year with Sephora, but they sent me the correct items within something like 2 business days and never even sent me information to return the incorrect items they had sent. That's how it should be done!
I agree bucky. I might swing by the store tomorrow and see if they will just give me my money back for the incorrect items, but to be honest, that will take more time then just tossing the package in the outgoing UPS stuff at the office.
I once ordered a pair of jeans that were on sale, size 7. They sent me a size 13. When I called they told me to take them back to the store. When I went to the store they told me they could not return them because my packing slip and the jeans code did not match. The store wanted me to call the online #. I ended up taking them to a consignment shop I sell some things at and they sold them for more money than I paid for them!
I completely agree that their system is not customer friendly.
I had an issue when I bought dining room chairs from them. I ordered 2 sets of 2 chairs for a total of 4. Both sets were damaged when they got here so I had to return them to the store - and then they proceeded to ship me 5 more sets for a total of 10 chairs. And none arrived together - they all showed up on separate days.
It would have been funny if they hadn't charged me for all of them.
I shop a lot at Target, but I loathe having to return anything there, and based on the stories I've heard I would never order from them online. I also generally avoid buying any clothing that requires me to use their dressing rooms. The complete and total inflexibility on their 5 limit dressing room item infuriates me. If I have six things, I'm not going to leave one of them out and have to get fully dressed to make the swap.

Between the outrageous shipping on orders less than $50 and their spectacularly awful customer service regarding their website and returns from their website, I don't shop at Target.com unless I have a gift card to use. I don't live within 200 miles of a target, so I rarely shop in store.
I get much better service from Amazon and even Walmart.
They did this to me and I spent 3 hours trying to return it. I was accused of stealing the items multiple times and was told I needed to video tape myself opening packages if I wanted to claim they sent me the wrong stuff. They are horrible.
I'm sorry but I'm not surprised. They are very, very strict with their receipts, so I anticipate problems if you go in the store with your true story. I'm sure they wont' believe you, which is awful of course to treat your customers that way.
That sucks that they would be helpful. I have had them ship me the wrong item but when I called them they just sent a new shipment of the correct items and let me keep the wrong item. Maybe you could call back and see if you get a differant answer? Or at least ask for a supervisor who could do something.
I did speak to a supervisor. I do think if I went to the store there would be nothing they could do bc items don't match receipt. Gah. I'll just send the random stuff back. But stuff like this reminds me why I don't understand the target love.

That is ridiculous and about the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. So you just happened top have a target box, that just happened to have a packing slip, and just happened to have the wrong thing, so you could go waste your time trying to straighten things out.
Yeah, that sounds like someone who's trying to steal items. If you were trying to steal something, I don't think even the most dedicated thief would take three hours to do so.
This sucks. I also have a hard time understanding the target love. I try to only buy consumable products there because of their horrendous return policy. It completely baffles me that anyone would choose to register there. I received a few duplicate baby gifts from target and they wanted my drivers license information? Um no thanks. I exchanged them at kohls, who has an amazing return policy.
I understand that they are trying to mitigate shoplifting, but seriously, they'd be better off not pissing their customers off and understand that some earrings will probably go missing from time to time. It's not like they are so much cheaper than the competition from their cost saving dick return policy.
Ditto pp about disputing with CC company. If they won't resolve it promptly and correctly, just contest it with the CC company that you didn't receive the items paid for.
Can you try reaching out to them on Twitter? After registering there for our wedding I grew to greatly dislike Target's policies. We had registered for a stockpot. I guess between the time we registered and gifts were bought the SKU on the pot changed, because we received 2 identical looking stock pots to the one we registered or. Same brand, metal, size, price. But because the SKU didn't match what we scanned it didn't come off the registry, hence the duplicates. When I tried to return 1 for store credit the best they would do is let me exchange for 1 item the exact same price on the same aisle. there was nothing so we ended up keeping and then regifting the pot. They are so annoying.

The same thing happened to me with my wedding registry, and I truly cannot believe they haven't changed this policy yet. HELLO! I just had a shower and a wedding, with a registry. There is nothing left in the "small appliances" aisle that I want or need. I registered for everything I wanted. I hated them so much for this policy.
Wow. Reading all of this makes me really glad I haven't had to return anything there in years. Did they use to be much better? I don't recall having issues before, but like I said, it's been years.
I will never buy anything from them online thanks to this thread. I rarely go to Target anyways because our store always has just a handful of registers open. Yesterday they had 4 open out of 32. All of them were on the other side of the store.
