All of a sudden over the weekend my demi waist maternity jeans are really uncomfortable. I don't think I can wear them again. They press too hard on my lower bump.
My work pants are mostly demi waist and are still really comfortable. They stretch a lot more.
I think I need to break down and buy full panel jeans. I only wear jeans on weekends, so I'm slightly hesitant to spend the money. Yet at the same time, I'll go crazy without a pair of jeans to wear.
I'm still able to wear my Joe's Jeans fairly comfortably with a belly band. My shape looks great in these so I hope the belly band is comfortable for a while to come. Maybe I can avoid buying full panel.
Was anyone able to wear a belly band through the entirety of their pregnancy? I do the fold under/over trick so I don't feel the open zipper, and they are basically turned into demi waist jeans.
This is why I need to read as I type from my phone. Get the full panel jeans. They are so comfortable and you'll continue to wear them even after you give birth. Just go try on a pair and feel the difference
I hated full panel anything. I used the hair tie trick for 95% of my pregnancy. I didnt use a belly band, but I did buy a bunch of long tank tops to cover the tops of my pants. I also bought a bunch of low rise pants in a bigger size and used a hair tie when needed and the tanks to cover the waistband. So much more comfortable than adjusting belly bands.

Have you tried on a pair of full panel pants yet? I tried to hold out on buying them too & used the belly band. I think I finally caved around 16w & once I did it I was kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
IMO full panel = most comfortable pants ever. I even wore them for about 8w pp, then they got to be too big. It was a sad day.
Seven months along and I had been wearing my regular jeans with the band covering the zipper. The buttons and I think the zipper were rubbing on my skin and driving me crazy.
Bought two pairs of full panel and wish i had done it sooner. I actually fold the panel in half to make them demi, having the waist under my boobs just doesn't seem right yet.
The old navy ones are pretty good (didn't have my size in store and I wanted them ASAP so I wound up buying from Motherhood)
I hated full panel jeans with a passion, but the demi panels never bothered me. I did, however, wear a pair of my pre-pregnancy jeans with a hair tie and long tank for the last 5 weeks of my pregnancy (I ripped a pair of my maternity jeans, and there was no way I was buying another pair at 35 weeks pregnant), and it was fine.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to go ahead and order a pair from Gap or ON today. The two things I don't want to spend money on are full panel jeans, and a maternity winter coat. The temp has dropped so much though, that I think I need to suck it up and buy the coat too.
Why don't you want to spend money on comfortable clothes that will make you look and feel good?
There's being MM and there's being cheap. When you're sacrificing comfort and convenience for no reason other than you used to think it was silly to spend money on X, you're moving into cheap. Either you'll have another baby and get more wear of out it, or you can sell it later, or you can give it to someone else that needs it. These are not purchases that will be regretted.
Buy the coat and the jeans. Seriously. I am a firm believer in trying to look (and feel!) as good as possible when pregnant. I never regretted having nice comfy and flattering clothes to wear when I was pregnant. I felt like it gave me a huge confidence boost, even when I was having days when I felt schlumpy or gross. I unfortunately never found any maternity jeans that were comfy and fit right so I went without, but had I found some I liked, I would have been allll over it.
I loved the full panel - glad you went ahead and bought some. Gap were really comfy and flattering, as were the Paige jeans I found on eBay (I'm cheap).
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I would buy the jeans. Between 14-17 weeks I spent $350 on materinity clothes that fit correctly. I am comfortable and I look good which makes me feel good. When I am undressed I feel huge but I really think my good fitting clothes make me look put together and a lot smaller than I feel. You will not regret it. I am only wearing full panel. I think they are more comfortable. When I was smaller I just folded them down if I needed to. My jeans are from motherhood and burlington coat factory. I also have a pair of skinny black pants from Gap and H&M. I have a few maternity tops that were hand me downs but mostly wear maternity tees and tanks with cardigans and blazers over them. I have a few dresses as well and bought tights in a larger non maternity size which I seem for now to be able to pull up over my belly. I also bought a super cute pair of cords last week in black from kohls. Kohls has great sales and their stuff is pretty nice.

I've purchased quite a few tops that make me feel good.
As for the jeans - my regular jeans with a belly band still fit pretty comfortably.
I just hate spending money on items that won't get much use. Full panel falls into that category, because i didn't wear them in early pregnancy, and won't wear them after birth. I was really hoping demi would get me through, but for jeans, it looks like they might not.
Do you have a long or a short torso? My short-torso'ed SIL gave me all of her full panel jeans and said she hated them because then went up to her boobs. I have a long torso and the panel only goes two inches above my belly button.
I can't do the rubber band through the belt loops or the belly band anymore because my shirts are fitting tighter now and you can see the awkward lumps from having my pants unbuttoned.

I found my full panel jeans much more comfy the entire pregnancy, but especially after birth to hold in my new muffin top of post-partum flab/swelling. And, it felt much better on my c/s area. In the demi-panel, my depuffed belly just flopped over the top.

same here. The full panel pants were good PP for holding in the area that needed some extra support!

I think I wore the bella band until 24/26 weeks with my normal jeans. I bought one pair of maternity designed jeans after that, but was back into my regular jeans (with a rubber band around the button) within a week after giving birth.
I had both full panel and demi panel pants and didn't mind the demi, but the full was more comfy. If I had a thin enough shirt, though, you could see a weird line from the full panel.
I hated full panel. There was no way I could get away with just the Bella band and my regular pants. Old navy often has jeans on clearance, it's a long 20 wks not to go spend $30.
