I work for the government so my leave is set through our contract, but I'm wondering if you all could weigh in on what kind of leave you were offered, for a friend of mine. I know this will be different by firm size and market, but I'm curious.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

I took three full months (I think it was like 14 weeks) off but none of it was paid. I work at a small firm. I returned to a part time attorney position, which is pretty hard to come across, so I've got zero complaints about unpaid leave.
My H's firm (mid sized) offers 16 weeks paid - part of that is through a STD program and part is just paid. They also pro-rate the attorney's hours so they aren't responsible for the full 2000 that the other attorneys are.

Small firm in Michigan (too small for FMLA). I got paid 100% for the first two months and then had the choice to work part time for full pay for the third month or take it off completely for half pay. I worked part time that third month (in the office two days a week).
I can take 12 weeks even though I'm not covered by FMLA.
I have NJ STD and paid leave. This is a small % of my salary. (they will pay me up to 8 weeks for a c-section, longer if I have complications under STD; 6 weeks paid leave).
In addition, my firm will give me 2 weeks of full salary for every year I've been here. If I were to get pg now, I'd have 6 weeks by the time I gave birth.
12 weeks paid, AmLaw 100 firm in NYC that NEVER matches market. At least I get this. And everyone is allowed to take another 3 months unpaid. I don't think it's an official policy, but most people seem to do it.
Wow, there's so much variation! We're in a medium-sized market but she's at one of the biggest firms here, and has apparently only been offered 3 months unpaid.

I worked at one of Milwaukee's biggest firms as a paralegal, so I don't know the specifics of what the attorneys got for pay but I do know that they could take up to 6 months off. I'm pretty sure it wasn't all paid.
